Qualifying Essay for Entrance into English Honors, Advanced Senior Seminar, and AP Classes

Grades 9-11 - Tuesday, February 9th, 7:30 a.m. - EHS-LGI

In an attempt to place students as appropriately as possible in English classes, the EHS English Department has instituted a qualifying essay into English Honors classes. Ninth through eleventh grade students who are currently in regular classes but are interested in entering the honors, A.S.S. or AP program will be asked to read a literary passage and write an essay in response. Next Public meeting: February 9

The 2010-2011 budget season starts in earnest in February. Please plan to be with us at regular Board of Ed meetings on February 9 and 23, as the Administration shares some preliminary projections. And plan to spend Saturday morning, March 6 with the Board as the Administration presents its draft budget proposal for 2010-2011 from 9 a.m.-noon in the EHS Library.

All public meetings of the Board of Education are called to order at 7 p.m. in the Central Office Conference Room on the EHS Campus. There is then an immediate adjournment to Executive Session; public session reconvenes in the EHS LGI at 8:15 p.m. You can find a calendar listing topics to be discussed at each meeting by clicking on "Board of Education" to the left, and then on "Superintendent's Report Topics".

School Board Nominating Committee

The SBNC is reopening the nominating process on Thursday, January 28 to fill a new vacancy on the Board of Education. Details are available here in a letter from SBNC chair Michelle McNally.
