MathCounts team advances to States

Edgemont's Mathcounts team — represented by William Ling (8th grade), Dudley Qiu (8th grade), Lawrence Hou (7th grade) and Yuanye Wu (6th grade) — won second place at the February 7 Westchester/Putnam Chapter competition. They will complete at States, along with Scarsdale, which took first place, and Ardsley, in third place. 

This is the third consecutive year that Edgemont has advanced to the New York State Round.  

Thank you to the club’s supervising teacher, Ms. Forgione, and to the four student coaches—Serena Ke (12th grade), Tristan Li (10th grade), Alwin Jing (9th grade), and Hugh Leung (9th grade)—for organizing practices and leading the team selection process. Thank you as well for the sponsorship and support from the school, from PTSA and from all the parents. This achievement reflects a true community effort.

We look forward to cheering on the Edgemont Mathcounts Team at the State Round in March!
