Dear Students, Parents, and Community,
I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome back to all of you. During my short time at Edgemont, I have been overwhelmed by the kindness, warmth, and positive character of our school community. I am filled with excitement and energy for the upcoming school year. I spent much of my summer trying to learn about Edgemont and our school. I can not wait to meet more of you, so please stop by and say hello--whether in my office, at an after school event, in the cafeteria, or in the hallway.
Although the school year brings excitement, it can also increase stress for many of us. When I watch students arrive at school in the morning, I am often struck by all that they are carrying with them--not just heavy book bags--but expectations, hopes, dreams, fears, and anxieties. I understand just how wonderful, and sometimes how difficult, all of these aspects of school can sometimes be for students. My goal is to make your school experience a positive one. Academic, social, and emotional growth are all part of a tremendous journey for our students, and my objective is to make space in our school for each of these types of growth. Students, please know that I am here for you every step of the way.
The foundation of any successful can be found in the partnership between the school and the community. Parents, please know that my door is always open to you. We want to ensure your child not only learns and achieves, but also feels valued and respected at our school. I welcome your ideas, feedback, and look forward to building the best possible school community.
